CESI Middle East selected to help enhance Dubai's electrical grid

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has selected CESI Middle East to review transmission network in Dubai in order to ensure renewable energy integration readiness.
Under the contract, CESI Middle East will work with Transmission Operation department of DEWA to ensure the readiness of transmission and distribution network in Dubai.
In addition to supporting the new initiative to install photovoltaic (PV) panels to generate clean electricity and connect it to DEWA's grid, the contract supports DEWA's aim to improve transmission and distribution networks
CESI Middle East will provide training for DEWA's engineers.
The company will also propose operation policies and protocol enhancements to improve availability and reliability, as well as incorporate new tools and applications to boost operation management of transmission systems.
DEWA CEO and managing director Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said: "DEWA has developed plans and programmes to improve the operational efficiency of transmission and distribution networks and increase their efficiency and reliability.
"We are glad to work with CESI to ensure that the network is ready for the increase of renewable energy in Dubai's energy mix, and to provide training for DEWA's engineers."
