Maharashtra clears Rs. 14,549-cr metro project

Creating metro network in and around the metropolitan city, the Maharashtra CM recently approved a 32-km long metro line connecting the city directly to the adjoining Thane suburban areas entailing a whopping investment worth Rs. 14,549cr.

The government expects to complete the project (Mumbai Metro Line 4) with 32 stations by 2021. The project will help connect Mumbai directly with Thane providing a modern public transport system to commuters and will have a huge impact on the development in and around the corridor, said official sources, adding that the service will cover the distance between Wadala (Mumbai) and Kasarwadavli (Thane) within 64 minutes.
